Katia Silk consists of a unique composition of 80% hand-spun Katia silk and 20% cotton. The spun Katia silk comes from the cocoons of a wild silk butterfly. The short, soft filaments from these cocoons are spun into thick, irregular yarns. The harmonious blend with cotton creates a fascinating, high-contrast matt-gloss effect, where the cotton yarns and hand-spun silk threads come together. This gives the irregularities in the wires a surprisingly striking character.
